Do You Hear the Voice of God?

In 1962, Noel Regney and Gloria Shayne wrote Do You Hear What I Hear? as a response to the Cuban Missile Crisis. The song, written as a plea for world peace, has become a Christmas favorite. The second verse goes "Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy, 'do you hear what I hear? Ringing through the sky shepherd boy, do you hear what I hear? A song, a song, high above the trees with a voice a big as the sea, with a voice a big as the sea.'" The song goes on to let us know the voice is directing the shepherd boy to the Christ child who will "bring us goodness and light."
It seems impossible that the shepherd boy could not hear something as loud as the movement of the sea. He didn't, but many people miss the voice of God. How can some people claim to hear from God on a daily basis while other people say they have never heard from God?
How does God speak? What does he say? How can we know the voice of God? These are legitimate questions that need to be explored to find honest answers.

Come see us this Sunday we'll talk about that.
Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
