Are you ready for Christmas? Most people would respond with a definite, “NO WAY!” They would then begin to relay a long list of “to do’s” before Christmas Day. That is a typical response to the question. However, the question is deeper than preparation of our Christmas traditions and celebrations. That first Christmas there weren’t any cards to send, stockings to hang, decorations to put out or parties to attend. It was time when God unexpectedly broke into our world in the form of a baby. He would be called Jesus, “because he will save his people from their sins.” He will be called “Immanuel, God with us.”
“God with us.” Are you ready for the reality of the Almighty God personally involved in your life? He will save us from our sins. Shouldn’t that create a joyous expectation that you can be free from the evil which is trying to destroy you? Are you ready for Christmas? Are you ready for God’s spirit to walk with you? Are you ready for forgiveness of sin and life everlasting? If yes, then you are truly ready for Christmas.
Sometimes Christmas can be a problem. The first Christmas had its problems. Come see us Sunday. We will talk about that.

Pastor Jeff
