Welcome to the 21st Century

In the movie Father of the Bride, Steve Martin plays George, the father of the bride. As they are sitting with the wedding coordinator discussing cake selections, George is suddenly overwhelmed by the cost of a wedding cake. "$1200 for cake!," he says in disbelief. To which Franck, the coordinator, responds, "Welcome to the '90's Mr. Banks." You can view the clip here...
George was struggling to realize that times had changed from his generation. Yet times do change and what was done in the past often becomes obsolete. So it is with communication today. Instead of letters and long-distance phone conversations, we have Facebook, Twitter, email, texting, and blogs. We have come a long way from the telegraph.
Thus, the reason for our new blog at Little Paint. It is one 21st century way to communicate information easily to others, and in our case, the congregation and ministries of First Church at Little Paint. I hope you will visit our blog and our Facebook pages often. On Facebook you can post prayer concerns, praises, and pictures of church activities. You can view upcoming church activities, events and announcements here on our blog as well as on Facebook. From time to time I will be using the blog to share what God is speaking into my life.
I hope you will share this blog and our Facebook page with everyone you know. What a great way for folks to get to know the wonderful people of God at First Church. I am excited about what God has in store for us in the days ahead. Remember to continue to pray for a fresh move of God's Spirit.
Welcome to the 21st century and our new blog!
Pastor Jeff
