Open Doors

The Apostle Paul refers several times to a door being open for him to share the gospel. (See Acts 14:27, 1 Corinthians 16:19; 2 Corinthians 2:12; and Colossians 4:3) Paul understood the necessity of waiting for God to provide the opportunity to share the Good News of Christ. Only as God prepares the way will success occur. Christ's promise to the church in Philadelphia in Revelation 3 is that he will open doors for his church to witness for Him. These divinely arranged doors give each believer an opportunity to share God's love to receptive hearts. They are opened for us to go through. Though there may be insecurities in going through, if God opens the door, he believes we are ready to enter. If we are ready to enter, then he will go with us and equip us with what we need to be an effective witness for him. This passage in Revelation also reminds us that these doors of opportunity will not always be open. There will come a time when God closes the opportunity of salvation. Knowing this, we should be ever watchful for the opportunities we have to share what God has done in our lives, to bring the Good News of Christ's forgiveness and eternal life to others.

Open doors for the gospel are around us every day. We just need to open our spiritual eyes. Let's pray daily that God's Spirit will show us the opportunities to reach others with the gospel of Christ. Then, let's walk on in.

This is a key to the people of God overcoming in the last days. We must continue to share the Gospel until he comes.

Come see us Sunday.  We will talk about that.
Pastor Jeff
