Solid Foundations
My father was a building contractor. I can remember countless times being with him as he laid out the foundation of a building. This was not a quick job. Measurements had to be exact. Solid ground had to be found. The building's measurements had to be placed just right on the property for the proposed building to finish out as the architect designed. A faulty foundation at the beginning meant a building that was destined to fall apart later. If you have ever experienced a home with a crumbling foundation you know the trouble it brings to the rest of the house, cracks appear in the walls, the floors sag, doors will not close, even roofs can buckle. Most of us understand the need for a solid foundation in any building. We also need solid foundations in our Christian faith. Foundations on which our faith must be built if it is going to stand the test of time. These foundations become the place on which God's church stands amid the onslaught of an ungodly world This week I will begin a series entitled Church Foundations. In this series we will look at foundational areas that we must have in place to be all God has for us to be as a congregation and individual believers. As you prepare for Sunday take time to read 2 Timothy 3:1-17. From this passage we will be looking into the foundation of "The Authority of Scripture." We've missed seeing everyone due to the snow. The weather looks good for Sunday. I hope we will see you there! Pastor Jeff
